Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of this site and any order you place with us. By buying from us or creating an account, you agree to them.
Who you are contracting with
This site is operated by REKA BENTUK AFRICA (RC [RC NUMBER — TO BE CONFIRMED]), a company registered in Nigeria with its studio at 26 Ogunlana Dr, Surulere, Lagos 101241, Nigeria. “We” and “us” mean that company; “you” means the person placing an order.
Reach us at management@rekacompany.com.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to open an account, and old enough to enter a binding contract to place an order.
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details private and for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it. We may suspend an account being used fraudulently or abusively.
You can order as a guest. An account simply lets you see your order history.
Our pieces
Our garments are made in small runs by hand. Photographs are as faithful as we can make them, but weave, drape and colour vary between pieces and between screens. Minor variation is a property of the work, not a defect.
Availability is not guaranteed until an order is accepted. A piece shown on the site may sell out while it is in your bag.
Prices and currency
Our prices are set in Nigerian naira (NGN). That is the real price of every piece.
Prices shown in US dollars, pounds or euros are indicative conversions only. They are calculated using an exchange rate we maintain ourselves, which will not match the rate your bank or card issuer uses on the day. The amount actually charged by the payment provider is the amount you owe, and it is the figure that governs. Your bank may add its own conversion fee on top, which we do not receive and cannot predict.
Delivery is charged separately and calculated at checkout once you enter your address. Any import duty or tax on an international order is yours to pay.
Prices can change at any time, but never after an order has been accepted.
How an order is made
Placing an order is an offer to buy, not a completed sale. The contract is formed when we dispatch the piece and confirm it by email — not when you pay, and not when you receive an order confirmation.
Between those two moments we may decline the order and refund you in full if the piece turns out to be unavailable, if it was listed at an obviously wrong price, or if we suspect fraud. This is the only reason the contract forms on dispatch rather than on payment.
Your pieces are held for 30 minutes while you pay. If payment is not completed in that window, the stock is released for other shoppers and you will need to start again.
Payment is taken by Paystack for orders in naira and US dollars, and by Stripe for orders in pounds and euros. Card details are entered on their pages and never reach us.
Delivery and returns
Delivery timescales, costs, and your right to return or exchange a piece are set out in full on our Delivery & Returns page. Those terms form part of this agreement, and that page is the authoritative version — it is deliberately not repeated here so the two cannot contradict each other.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer, including under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018.
Bespoke commissions
A bespoke commission begins with a consultation, at which we agree the design, the price, the timeline and any deposit. Booking a consultation costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
Bespoke pieces are cut to your individual measurements, so they cannot be returned or exchanged. If the fit is wrong when you receive it, contact us and we will put it right.
Measurements you give us must be accurate. Once cutting has begun, a commission cannot be cancelled, and a deposit becomes non-refundable from that point.
Our content, and using this site
Everything on this site — photographs, designs, text, and the name REKA BENTUK AFRICA — belongs to us or is used with permission. You may not copy, resell or use it commercially without our written agreement. Buying a garment does not transfer any rights in its design.
You agree not to interfere with the site, attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours, scrape it systematically, or use it to break the law.
Our responsibility to you
We take responsibility for loss we cause by failing to meet these terms or by acting without reasonable care. We do not accept responsibility for losses that were not foreseeable, or for business losses such as lost profit or opportunity.
Except where the law does not allow it to be limited, our total liability for any order is capped at the amount you paid for it.
Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes will be heard by the courts of Lagos State.
If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of protections that the law of your own country gives you and does not allow to be contracted away.
Before going to court, please write to us — most problems are quicker to solve that way.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the business changes. The version published here when you place an order is the version that applies to it — a later change cannot be applied backwards to an order already made.
